Recently, I read “Modern EdTech Leadership” by Mike Daughtery (morethanatech.com).
This has definitely been a good read.. not to mention, most of what I believe in in regards to K-12 technology leadership is in this book. I will be sharing more information from the book later this month. One of the key takeaways that I really like (there are many) from this book is below.
“A successful technology director builds bridges, not barriers. They have to be an ally and look at how decisions affect the district as a whole and ensure those decisions are student-centered. Empowering the teachers in their technology is essential and in reality, if the director is not the “technology champion”, then who is?”
